Launch of the EU/Council of Europe “HELP in the EU” project in Romania in a week of HELP related events

The HELP course on Introduction to the European Convention on Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights launched for Masters’ students in Timisoara, followed by a HELP training of trainers session hosted at the National Institute of Magistracy and the launch of the course on Fight against Racism, Xenophobia, Homophobia and Transphobia for Romanian lawyers, hosted at the Romanian Institute for the Training of Lawyers in Bucharest

On 9 October the students in the Masters’ Programme on European Law from the Law Faculty of the West University of Timisoara were introduced to the EU/Council of Europe „HELP in the EU” Project and enrolled in the HELP course on Introduction to the European Convention on Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights. They will complete this course in the framework of their curriculum course on human rights law. This initiative builds on a fruitful cooperation between the University and the Council of Europe HELP Programme materialised in the integration of HELP courses in the students’ curricula.

On 10 and 11 October 2018, the National Institute of Magistracy (NIM) in Bucharest hosted an EU/Council of Europe „HELP in the EU” training-of-trainers session for enlarging the pool of certified trainers in view of launching HELP courses in the future. Seven regular trainers from the NIM and 3 trainers from the National Institute for the Training of Lawyers took part in the two-day session and were introduced to the HELP methodology and walked through the main stages of using our online platform for tutoring HELP courses. The session was included in the series of events related to the EU/Council of Europe „HELP in the EU” project. The participants who will successfully complete their assignments will receive the HELP tutor certificate and will be included in the pool of HELP certified tutors.
